Our May Mystery Pick (Which Will Be Entirely Read In June)

hgHello, Dear Friends. Our deepest apologies for the lateness of this announcement. We were planning to have a guest host for our mystery/thriller pick but, sadly, these plans fell through. However, Kirt and Tania are known for their dauntlessness. We have quickly selected a title for the next podcast which we expect you to have read by the 14th of June (or whenever you can). Our selection is Jacqueline Baker’s The Horseman’s Graves. Tania needs to be applauded for her bravery. This novel is both a Gothic thriller and historical fiction, neither of which are her faves. We do know that this selection will please Nat at The Wandering Bibliophile. She has been recommending this book to us since forever.

We look forward to getting our read on. We also hope that you will be able to join us.

Okay, just read the synopsis on Goodreads… it’s a little overwrought (“profound testament to our universal search for love and redemption” ughhhghg okay lol), but I’m into it… reminds me of On Beauty by Connie Gault or Meadowlark by Wendi Stewart. Good prairie novels! This doesn’t sound very mystery/thriller-ish to me though?

I thought the same thing but I just take everything Tania says at face value. If she says it’s a duck I just believe her (even though some part of me knows that it is a platypus). – Kirt

Finally! This book is the bomb.
