Here we are back again so soon to talk about our non-fiction pick. We are having a very good track record with these picks. Neither Tania nor Kirt are big fans of non-fiction but our last two choices have been thoroughly enjoyed. Listen to the podcast, listen to Kirt weep, listen to why he gave it 5 out of 5 stars, and listen to why Tania gave it 4 out of 5 stars. We also discuss The Force Awakens, so that’s like, legitimately, a bonus.
Other books discussed in this podcast:
- My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki
- Fante Bukowski by Noah Van Sciver
- Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology by Eric Brende
- Plain Kate by Erin Bow
Other blogs (and bloggers) mentioned:
- Nat @ The Wandering Bibliophile
- Naomi @ Consumed By Ink
- Jenna and Thomas @ Larch Grove Farm
- Laura @ Reading In Bed
Yay for the 5 stars! And, Kirt, you’re not the only one who got choked up while reading the book. She just said so many beautiful things about the land and about life. And there were so many good quotes.
I’m not sure if I would hold up to all that hard work, but there’s even something about that that makes me want to try it (weird, I know). But mostly I like the idea of getting away from other humans and technology and growing some food and having some chickens. You could do chickens, couldn’t you Kirt? And maybe a goat – goats are cute. In fact I just had an idea: if you’re coming out east again sometime, we could all move to Sable Island!
Book bloggers retreat on Sable Island. Let’s do this ☺
Yes!
I could do chickens but not goats. There is nothing you can get from a goat that I want. A Sable Island retreat with all of my favourite book bloggers sounds pretty cool, though. – Kirt
