Tania was sick, then Kirt was sick, and then WordPress was sick. Sorry for the long delay! Unfortunately, several of the events we mention in our podcast have already happened. Hope you enjoyed them if you knew about them. However, here we are at long last with Tania’s birthday pick. Thankfully, we really enjoyed this book. If you would like to find out why we liked the book so much (and hear about a couple of reservations that we had) then you should just go ahead and listen to the podcast. You’ll also get to hear some pretty controversial things said about women. Prepare for a scandal!
We are looking forward to talking about Jenna Butler’s A Profession of Hope in just a couple of days for our Non-Fiction Month. We’re also very excited to announce that there will no longer be an April New Release Month. Henceforth, April will be known as Laura From Reading in Bed’s Month! Laura is going to join us for her third time to discuss Birdie by Tracy Lindberg. We’re looking forward to her return. They’re always good shows.
Other books mentioned in this podcast:
- The Illegal by Lawrence Hill
- The MaddAddam series by Margaret Atwood
- Beatlebone and City of Bohane by Kevin Barry
- Hyperion by Dan Simmons
- Rosalie Lightning by Tom Hart
- Bossypants by Tina Fey
- Barney’s Version by Mordecai Richler
- Fifth Business by Robertson Davies
- Death and the Penguin by Andrey Kurkov
Items in our increasingly popular Canadian Book News section:
I have to drive to Stony Plain by myself tomorrow and I am so excited to listen to this!
Oh, I wish I had read this one so I could listen to the podcast properly. I was too busy trying to fit in all the Canada Reads books. On the bright side, I’ve read both Profession of Hope and Birdie!
And good call on the ‘Laura from Reading In Bed Month’!
