I’ll Have an Eliot with a Side of Calvino, Please.

For many, many years I’ve been meaning to read Calvino’s own classic, If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler. My resolve to do so has been strengthened by A Classic Case of Madness’ read-along (although, I have not been reading along), and by this article about reading “classics”.

I have found all of Mr. Calvino’s observations in the article to be true in my rereading of Middlemarch.
