William Carlos Williams, the author of both of these quotations, was born on this day 130 years ago. I often feel an affinity for his generation of writers more than any other. Perhaps I am part of The Lost Generation Part Deux. Perhaps we who fall between Gen X and Y should take this name for ourselves (since no one else has bothered to give us one)?
